감리교회 100년 기도운동 준비기도회 기도문
우주와 만물을 창조하신 거룩하신 하나님.
주님은 하늘 위에와 땅 위에와 땅 아래와 바다 위에와 또 그 가운데 모든 피조물로부터 찬송과 존귀와 영광과 권능을 받기에 합당하십니다.
우리가 하나님을 기뻐하며 주를 가까이 함이 힘이 되고 복이 되는 줄로 믿나이다.
지금, 우리들은 기독교 대한감리회가 기도하는 교단이며, 우리 감리교도들은 기도하는 사람들임을 천명하며 24시간 꺼지지 않는 기도의 불길로 타오르기 원하여 이 자리에 모였습니다. 저희들의 각오를 새롭게 하여 주옵소서. 이제 하나님의 때가 이르렀으며 기도의 불길이 우리 교단뿐만 아니라 한국 교회와 열방의 교회들을 향해 들불처럼 번져나가기를 소망합니다. 바라옵기는 이 자리에 모인 저희들에게 복을 주시며, 우리의 마음을 다시 뜨겁게 달구어 주시며, 각자의 자리에서 하나님의 부르심을 들은 저희들을 어여삐 여겨주시사, 비춰주시는 전두의 광명을 향하여 용명과감하게 맥진(驀進)하게 하옵소서.
“100년 기도로 교회를 새롭게 하라!"
이 기치를 들고 이제 행진하려 하는 저희들의 손을 붙들어 주옵소서. 주의 손에 붙들려 쓰임받는 일꾼되게 하옵소서.
1963년 4월 30일부터 정을 대지 않은 돌단을 쌓고 하나님 앞에서 마음을 물같이 쏟으며 365일, 24시간 하루도 빠지지 않고 니라와 민족을 위해, 전쟁 없는 통일국가 한국이 복음화 되는 그날을 꿈꾸며 기도해 온 60년 역사의 보배로운 용문산 구국기도제단에서 우리가 주께 기도드립니다. 주여 지금 이 땅의 교회가 위기에 였나이다. 목사와 평신도들이 흔들리고 있습니다. 코로나 팬데믹을 거치며 한국의 교회가 흔들리고 있나이다.
주님 앞에서, 그간 안일했던 교역자의 게으름과 나태함을 고백하려 하면,
끝도 없이 추락하는 교회를 간신히 끌고 가는 무참함을 토로하려 하면,
시든지 오래된 복음의 열정을 선창(宣暢)하려 하면,
기도의 불길이 꺼진 제단을 드러내고자 하면,
세상이 감당치 못할 성도가 아니라 세상을 감당치 못하는 성도를 양산한 책임을 지려하면,
맛을 잃고 밖에 버려져 오가는 사람들의 발에 밟히는 소금이 된지 오래된 교회를 내보이라 하시면,
"내 피로 산 교회를 어찌하여 이 꼴로 만들었느냐?” 주님이 물으시면 머리들 수 없는 죄를 지은 종들임을 고백할 수밖에 없나이다. 제대로 사명 감당하지 못했음을 토설하며 간구하옵나니 용서하여 주시옵소서.
"하늘의 하나님, 크고 두려우신 하나님이여 주를 사랑하고 주의 계명을 지키는 자에게 천대까지 언약을 지키시며 긍휼을 베푸시는 주여 간구하나이다.”(느1:5)
우리를 고쳐 주시옵소서. 이 땅을 고쳐 주시옵소서. 우리의 어머니 감리교회를 재건케 하옵소서. 저희를 기도 운동의 첫 주자로 부르시는 주님, 사명은 중차대하니 우리의 능력은 심히 미약하나이다. 그러하오니 지와 인과 용과 덕의 근원이 되시는 하나님께 간구합니다. 우리의 미약함을 감추어 주옵소서. 오로지 주의 능력만이 드러나게 하옵소서. 이제 종들이 온전히 주님의 능력을 힘입어 어머니 교회와 이 땅의 모든 백성들을 향하여 기도의 횃불을 들고자 하오니 흔쾌한 부활의 기운을 성수케 하옵소서. 오늘 용문산 구국제단을 향해 모여든 우리들의 작은 발걸음이 위대한 일을 계획하신 주님의 큰 그림의 첫 획이 되게 하여 주옵소서!
영국의 존 웨슬리 한사람으로부터 시작된 유구한 메도디스트들의 기도의 영성을,
1727년부터 24. 365. 100년 기도를 이어온 독일의 헤른후트의 기도의 영성을,
1903년 원산 사경회에서 보여준 영의 사람, 캐나다 로버트 하디 선교사의 기도의 영성을,
용문산 구국 제단 기도원에서 부르짖은 60년 기도전통의 영성을,
이제 지금 대한민국 각처에서 모인 저희들이 온전히 구비할 수 있도록 은혜를 내려주시옵소서.
위대한 계획을 꿈꾸며 거창한 걸음을 내딛기 보다는, 이미 위대한 일을 계획하시고 우리를 부르신 주님께 순종하며 작지만 한걸음, 그렇지만
'꾸준하게 탁월하게 한 방향으로 단호하게' 걸어가는 걸음이 되게 하옵소서!
감리교회의 과거가 계승되고, 현재가 치유되며 미래가 기대되게 하옵소서!
“사람이 일하면 사람이 일 할 뿐이지만, 사람이 기도하면 하나님이 일하기 시작한다."고 하였습니다. 여호와여 일어나소서. 우리를 위하여 싸워주소서. 기도하는 사람은 죽어도 기도는 죽지 않는 줄 아오니 오늘 이곳을 향한 저희들의 발걸음이 훗날 후손들에게 물려줄 미래유산이 되게 하옵소서.
기도로 새로워질 우리 감리교회를 기대하게 됩니다. 지극히 작은 저희들을 부르사 성충을 합한 준비기도회를 포명하게 하시고 작금 이후로 기도의 권능으로 몰아가실 하나님을 찬양합니다. 백년 기도운동은 하나님의 기쁨이며 저희들이 마땅히 빌 바이며 당연히 동참하여 순응병진(順應竝進)해야 할 줄로 믿사오니 우리에게 능력을 더하소서. 이 예배를 하나님께 올려드립니다. 하나님의 말씀을 대언하실 목사님을 통해 가슴이 뜨거워지게 하시고 마음과 목숨과 뜻과 힘을 다해 드리는 진실된 예배되게 하옵소서. 장한 행진을 결심하며 상한 심령으로 나아온 저희들에게 하늘문 여시사 주의 기이한 것을 보게 하시고 충만한 능력으로 채워주옵소서.
길이요 진리요 생명이 되시는 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 기도드립니다. 아멘!

Invocation at the Preliminary Prayer Assembly for the 100-Year Prayer Movement of the Korean Methodist Church
O Holy Lord, Sovereign Creator of the vast Universe and all living beings,
We acknowledge and declare Your profound worthiness to receive unceasing praise, profound respect, resplendent glory, and immeasurable power from every celestial being above the earth, the heavens, and the depths of the ocean, as well as from the depths below the earth We firmly believe that delighting in Your presence and drawing near to Your divine essence grants us indomitable strength and abundant blessings.
We have convened in this assembly to declare the Korean Methodist Church as the sanctum of prayer, and we, as Methodists, are devout adherents of prayer, tirelessly igniting the flame of supplication round the clock.
May we humbly request your divine blessing upon us in this very moment, as we implore you to reignite the fervor within our hearts.
We implore You, in this sacred hour, to grant us a renewal of spirit. The appointed time has come, and we beseech You to ignite a fervent flame of prayer that spreads throughout the churches of Korea and resonates across nations. Bless us in this very moment and rekindle the fire within our hearts.
As we embarked on our individual journeys within the Methodist faith at the Methodist seminary, we responded to Your divine call. Please rejuvenate our commitment, empowering us to march forward with unwavering courage and unrelenting determination.
"Church Renewal through the 100-Year Prayer Movement"
As we embark on this mighty prayer movement, we beseech You to uplift our weary hands and utilize us as Your faithful servants.
On the hallowed day of April 30th, 1963, at the 3 w erected a revered altar of unhewn stones. Over the course of the past six decades, unwavering prayers have been continuously offered for the well-being of Korea, its citizens, the peaceful unification of Korea, and the evangelization of a unified Korea.
Lord, the churches in Korea find themselves in dire crisis, with Christian leaders and laypeople being swayed. Since the onset of the pandemic, Korean churches have faltered.
We humbly approach Your presence and confess our sins: We, the Christian leaders, have displayed complacency and indolence; we have been feeble in guiding the struggling churches; we have been unable to reignite our fervor for the Gospel; we confess that the fires upon the altars of prayer have long been extinguished; we have failed to nurture Christians who are indispensable to the world, instead being held accountable for fostering Christians who are unable to conquer the world. The church has become a tasteless salt, disregarded by secular society.
Lord, we are sinners, acknowledging that we would be speechless if You were to inquire, "What has become of the church for which I shed My own blood?" We have not faithfully fulfilled our mission and now humbly kneel before You, seeking Your forgiveness.
"Lord, the God of heaven, the great and awesome God who keeps His covenant of love with those who love Him and keep His commandments.
(Nehemiah 1:5)
Lord, we implore You to heal us, redeem us. Mend this fractured world and rejuvenate the Korean Methodist Church, our cradle of faith.
We firmly believe that You have chosen us to be pioneers of this prayer movement. The magnitude of the mission is overwhelming, while our own weaknesses are evident.
Nevertheless, we stand before You, the wellspring of wisdom, patience, courage, and virtue.
Shield our inadequacies and unveil Your omnipotent power alone.
As Your servants are mobilized by Your divine might to uplift the torch of prayer for churches and all humanity, let us be utilized as instruments for the revival of the church.
May our small steps today at this very altar serve as the initial stride toward the fulfillment of Your grand design.
From every corner of our nation, we have assembled, seeking Your grace. Aid us in attaining the spiritual power present in the prayers offered throughout Christian history: the prayers of early Methodists dating back to John Wesley; the prayers emanating from the Hernhut community in Germany during their 100 years of ceaseless supplication starting from 1727; the prayers fervently uttered by Canadian missionary Robert Hardie during the Wonsan prayer meeting in 1903; and the prayers fervently offered at the 용문산구국제단기도원 over the past six decades. In humility, we submit ourselves to Your divine call
Rather than devising grandiose plans of our own, we humbly yield to Your call, taking small but resolute steps forward. May this journey align with Your majestic plan, ensuring we never veer off course but continue steadfastly in the right direction. May this journey stand as a testament to the Methodist legacy, bringing healing to the present age and propelling us toward a promising future.
We firmly believe in the power of prayer, as the saying goes, "When men work, they work. But when men pray, God works." Lord, we implore You to rise up! Engage in battle on our behalf. We recognize the fleeting nature of our mortal lives, but our prayers shall endure. We pray that our presence here today becomes a faithful legacy for future generations.
We eagerly anticipate the prayers that will usher in the renewal of the Methodist Church.
We acknowledge our unworthiness of Your call, yet You have summoned us for this foundational prayer gathering. We firmly believe that You will lead us with the potency of prayer, and we humbly offer our praise to You.
We firmly hold the belief that you shall find great joy in the 100-year prayer movement. As we earnestly seek your divine strength and wholeheartedly embrace this movement, we beseech you to fortify us with your unparalleled power.
We place our worship and adoration solely before You, to be consecrated in Your divine presence.
May Reverend Lee, the president of the council of Bishops be an instrument through which Your message resonates and our hearts are set ablaze. At this very moment, we wholeheartedly surrender ourselves to You.
Though wounded and weak in spirit, we commit ourselves to partake in this grand prayer march. Open wide the gates of heaven. May we witness Your mysterious miracles and be infused solely with Your immense power.
We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, our Way, our Life, our Truth.
